Deducing how “Mastered for iTunes” works

Great detective work by David Dodson and CDM. I was messing around with these new Apple mastering utilities the other day and it’s very difficult to know what exactly they do.

There’s so much to say, in fact, that almost each line here of David’s conclusions is up for potential discussion and debate.

Apparently they apply core audio volume levels and some other weird stuff too.
